Editorial standards
Trusted Theatre Review aims to make theatre easier to read without flattening its ambiguity. We distinguish interpretation from verifiable fact, take care with claims, and make our standards clear to readers.
Accuracy and interpretation
We check factual details against material available to us and use precise language when a point is interpretive or uncertain. A reading of a scene is an argument, not a claim that every audience member must agree. We do not invent quotations, production details, credentials or firsthand experiences.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are made for their relevance to readers, not to secure favourable coverage. Any paid, sponsored or partner material is clearly labelled where it appears and kept distinct from independent editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee a review, endorsement or favourable conclusion.
Corrections
If we find a factual error, we correct it and make the change clear when it materially affects the meaning of a piece. Readers can send correction requests through the Contact page; please identify the passage and explain what needs attention.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with AI. We identify AI-generated illustrations where they appear and do not present them as documentary images of a real production, person or venue.
